NEWS RELEASE, NOVEMBER 21, 2012 - Mystical Parlors and Sound Magazine have teamed up once again and will be hosting a toy drive to benefit the Carver Foundation of Norwalk. “Connecticut has been especially hard hit with the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy and recent economic downturns. We feel it’s the time of year to be generous and want to give back to our local community,” states Derek Signore, Publisher of Sound Magazine. “What better way to celebrate the season of giving than to provide free toys to children and great music to adults,” states Kim Hallas, Owner of Mystical Parlors.

Talking to Walls will be performing an acoustic concert on December 15, 2012 at Mystical Parlors, 17 Washington Street, South Norwalk from 7:30 until 10:30 p.m. You never know which of our musical friends may also make an appearance and sing a song or two! Talking to Walls 2010 album “We Were Not So Tall” contains 12 tracks of rock and roll stories, ranging from the Smashing Pumpkins-meets-Buffalo Tom of "Walkaway” to the prog-inflected slam of "Came to You” and has already gained much recognition, such as the title track being featured on the national NBC ad for the Michael Phelps Foundation/Boys and Girls Club of America. The Juicy Grapes play songs blending funk, rock & soul inspiring you to get up and dance.

Last week, Mayor Richard A. Moccia showed his support of the community and love of the arts by introducing local reggae star Mystic Bowie to an audience boasting almost 400 people. Jeff’s Cuisine, Plaza Deli & Catering, and The Ginger Man provided beer, hurricanes, mojitos, sangria & burgers, along with pulled pork and a wide variety of tantalizing food & beverages for the crowd to enjoy. 10% of the beer & alcohol proceeds are donated to previously chosen local charities.
